Professor's message
Dr Origasa graduated from University of North Carolina at Chapel
Hill in 1985 (M.S. in Biostatistics) and in 1988 (Ph.D. in Biostatistics). He
has been a professor since 1994 in the current university. Research area of his
division is broad. He has been currently involved in more than 10 clinical
trials and registry studies and many consulting. He works for approx 5 trials
as a DMC board member. He is also an external statistical reviewer in PMDA
(Japanese FDA). He is a board member in Biometric Society of Japan, Japanese
Society of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics. Major clinical areas are
stroke, heart diseases, and diabetes. Current research interests are 1) risk
prediction modeling, 2) QOL evaluation, 3) analysis of medication adherence, 5)
pharmacovigilance, and 5) statistics education.
