The department of Radiological Sciences is actively engaged in cancer therapy research and health sciences pursing its goal using a number of therapeutic tools including ionizing radiation, ultrasound and hyperthermia. The laboratory offers help in the exploitation of novel chemical compounds assessing their effectives against various cancer cells as well as exploring the molecular mechanisms of action of the effective candidates. The research is also extended to test these candidates in combination with ionizing radiation, hyperthermia, ultrasound or cold atmospheric plasma aiming at enhanced effectiveness and decreased side effects.
The laboratory has international collaborators from different countries including China, Egypt, Pakistan, Philippine, Hungary, UAE, Bangladesh, Russia, UK, and USA.
The number of PhD Graduates in Dept. of Radiological Sciences (DRS) has reached 31 in March, 2016.
